Wroclaw, Poland. 24 May 2022. Earlier this month, Wolves Summit and PwC Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) announced their partnership with the goal of matching global impact investors with climate tech start-ups in the CEE region. As part of that partnership, they organised on 24 May at the Wolves Summit in Wroclaw a Climate Tech Pitching Track as part of The Great Pitch Contest, held a panel discussion on the state of climate tech investment, and announced plans to produce a CEE edition of the PwC Net Zero Future 50 report. Climate tech start-ups across the CEE region are invited to submit nominations for possible inclusion in the report by 3 July 2022.
Contrary to popular belief, the Chinese words for “crisis” and “opportunity” are, in fact, not the same. But as an anecdote, it has survived the test of time because it touches on something we all intuitively know to be true: that crisis begets change and change often represents an opportunity.
Fundraising and investment activity in Central Eastern Europe (CEE) continues to rise, as do the number of start-ups and unicorns. In this piece, we combine insights gleaned from speaking to investors at three very different firms: Multiple Capital (Fund of funds), Uniqa Ventures (Uniqa Insurance’s VC arm), and Wille Finance (Family office). These insights help paint a clearer picture of the advantages and benefits of investing in CEE start-ups and businesses, including the region’s large number of highly-skilled developers; its passionate and circumspect founders; low starting valuations; and exciting opportunities for high impact at local levels.

Warsaw, April 8, 2022 — Today, LG Electronics (LG) announces live at Alpha Wolves the launch of the Future Home Global Innovation Challenge to identify innovative technologies and business ideas that pave the way for a better, healthier, and more connected future. We are only 10 days away from attending Wolves Summit and you start to wonder what is the best part of the event? Some are interested in getting acquainted with the latest technology trends. Others have the compelling stage content on top of their list. However, for the majority, connecting with an investor is the main goal. We have over 100 VCs joining this year to meet with startups. The vetting process is extremely important and this year we released only a limited number of in-person startup passes. Investors want to return to their HQ with promising prospects to invest in, so the pressure is on to make sure the companies are of a high enough standard. The list of investors is adding up every day, but for today, here are our top ten investors we can't wait to see at this year's conference. So let us introduce them.
Are you at the edge of your seat? Because we definitely are. In the last few months we have been preparing an agenda full of world-class speakers, drawn from a range of backgrounds and professional disciplines.
