The prospects of Polish startup ecosystem. What Wolves have to say?

Poland cannot compete with Silicon Valley in terms of creating growth opportunities for startups, at least not within the next few years. There have been some changes made during the last decade and there are more to come, which is quite a positive forecast for all young tech companies.

Meet the startup world
Poland might be a tiny startup market compared to Northern California, New York or London, but it certainly has its assets. It’s constantly developing new startup hubs, accelerators, business incubators. Financing units like VCs and governmental ones engage in the ecosystem’s shape. Tech conferences such as Wolves Summit create invaluable growth opportunities by gathering startups, investors, corporations, mentors and experts in one place.

Its main advantage over any other event of that kind is scheduling 1:1 meetings between startup representatives and investors as well as delivering favourable conditions for networking between all attending groups. And what better way to develop a young or not-so-young tech company, if not through an intense series of meetings with potential investors, business partners and clients?

Students’ view on startups
A group of students from Kozminski University in Warsaw conducted a detailed study on the Polish startup ecosystem and the impact Wolves Summit has on it. Their in-depth analysis and interviews with participants have resulted in some interesting findings. Political and economical conditions are two aspects we can never fully control, but there are always a few solutions, which can be introduced to make the startup ecosystem in Poland even more welcoming.

The cool thing about Wolves Summit
What could be changed? Well, there is always room for improvement in case of tech events. The Wolves are growing in strength and becoming a key player in the startup conference/meetup community in the CEE region, so now that the Summit has gained popularity, it’s time for further development. High recognition in Poland leads to good reputation not only in the country, but in Europe, too. This, in turn, attracts many international entrepreneurs, companies and speakers.

The ultimate connection
Wolves Summit is becoming the bridge between Europe and the US. As Mike Costache from Tech Coast Angels says, Wolves Summit creates a nest, so that American and European investors, startups and companies can understand how things work on both sides of the world. Such bond will encourage people to explore all possibilities regardless of the location. The Polish startup ecosystem is therefore becoming more and more popular outside the country. We start seeing an increase of interest in Poland, especially in terms of high-skilled experts, networking possibilities and growth prospects. Will the ecosystem catch up with Silicon Valley? Certainly not, but we could go for the second position.
