Introducing the top ten speakers for Wolves Summit 2020

In the last few months we have been preparing an agenda full of world-class speakers, drawn from a range of backgrounds and professional disciplines. We’re buzzing to be sharing with you our top 10 speakers that will make it to the upcoming edition and which you definitely don’t want to miss.

Wolves Summit 12 Speakers

Michał Olszewski, Deputy Mayor of the Capital City of Warsaw 

A Deputy Mayor, Michal is responsible for work on the development strategy Warsaw. He oversees establishments responsible for obtaining European funds, economic development, housing policy, environmental protection, sports, geodesy and cadastre.

Michal will be joining Wolves Summit in October taking the stage during the opening ceremony from the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw.

 

Marvin Liao, ex-500 Startup Investor

Marvin wears many hats. He is an investor, executive coach and former advisor to several large Family Offices. Previously he was a Partner at Venture Capital Fund 500 Startups, running the SF based accelerator program as well as investing in Seed stage startups. He has invested in over 414 Pre-seed & Seed stage startups during the 6 years spent there. Marvin also spent 10.5 years at Yahoo! He presently serves on the boards/advisory boards of several internet advertising and ad technology companies across the globe. Marvin is a frequent speaker at many Digital Marketing & Tech Startup Conferences.

 

Tanja Sternbauer, the female factor, HeyBeauty

Tanja is a serial entrepreneur, awarded as "Female Rolemodel in Europe", named one of the 100 most influential businesswomen in Austria and won the Startup Hero award. Tanja co-founded the female factor, a platform dedicated to creating career-driven opportunities for future female leaders giving access to highly curated, impactful workshops, individual mentoring sessions with industry experts, and exclusive events in over 47 cities worldwide. Before co-founding the female factor, Tanja has been Managing Partner of Startup Live, the leading European acceleration program and president of the non-profit organization "Female Founders". Tanja started her own startup HeyBeauty at the age of 25.

 

Ola Miedzynska, CEO and Founder of Sx Tech.Eu

Ola  is the founder and CEO of sxtech.eu - the only conference connecting the deep tech and the sex tech industries. The first edition launched in July 2019 brought world class innovators in the world of sex and fem-tech, contributing to widespread changes via technology and the dampening of stigmas. Ola is also the organizer of the first sex-tech Germany hackathon and founder of the first Sex Tech Accelarator for a Female Founders, and Sx Tech Academy for sex tech professionals. Ms Anna Clunes, British Embassy 

Ms Clunes is a career diplomat. Formerly she held the position of Director at the Department for Exiting the European Union. She also served as Director of Economic Diplomacy and Director of Protocol at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Between 1996 and 2000 Clunes worked as Second Secretary at the UK Embassy in Warsaw. She also held positions at the UK Permanent Representation to the EU and the UK Mission to the United Nations. She took up her ambassadorial appointment to Poland in September. We’re thrilled to have Ms. Clunes opening this year’s conference alongside the Deputy Mayor of Warsaw, Expara and the Wolves Summit leadership team. 

 

Simon Drake, Managing Director at Space Ventures

Simon is a cCo-founder and Investor in Lunar Resources Registry (Germany), - aAdding certainty to space resources business models by enabling the registration of intent to explore and extract real resources. http://lunarresourcesregistry.com

Previously he was a co-founder and MD of Space Ventures Investors (UK), a shareholder driven company that invests in joint ventures and innovative space companies. Simon also held the position of co-founder and CEO of Space Commodities Exchange USA a joint-venture developing orbital tankers (e.g. in GEO) and a terrestrial exchange for trading of on-orbit commodities. 

 

Tal Catran, Startup Nation & TEDx Speaker, Ecosystem Builder

Tal is a prominent figure in the global innovation ecosystem. Founded 14 startup accelerators since 2012, in both Israel and abroad, has rendered him a Guru on building accelerators, hubs and startup ecosystems. He serves as Advisory Board Member in various companies and technology startups, mainly in CyberSecurity, IT, AdTech, Retail, Drones, Home Land Security and others. Tal is also a Keynote Speaker (participated on Wolves Summit in June 2020 addition) and TEDx Speaker, on tech startups, innovation, and entrepreneurship, sharing his professional toolbox to mentor, motivate and inspire entrepreneurs around the globe. Corona world Lock-down made Tal perform his own adaptation and added a new title to his name Webinar Guru, sharing his experience worldwide.

 

Igor Zacharjasz, Engagement Director, VISA

Igor is responsible for Visa Warsaw’s Innovation Studio, where he coordinates collaboration with clients and partners - including issuer banks, acquirers and startups. Active on the market for leading edge technology since 2001. Prior to joining the Visa team, Igor worked for Alior Bank, where he was in charge of technology scouting and sourcing, led a startup engagement team at Alior Innovation Lab, and was responsible for Poland’s first Android Pay deployment. Previously, Igor was the leader of the IBM Ecosystem Development team for Central and Eastern Europe.

Daato secures 5 million euros in seed financing round

Berlin-based Daato, a pioneer in ESG management, announces that it has secured over €5 million in a seed funding round. This investment will enable the startup to advance its mission to make ESG management efficient for all companies. Bulgaria launches renewables-plus-storage tenders

Bulgarian businesses can apply for funding under two new tenders that aim to facilitate 1,425 MW of renewable energy generation capacity coupled with 350 MW of energy storage. Funding support is only offered for the storage component. The Bulgarian Ministry of Energy has launched two renewables-plus-storage tenders to the tune of BGN 535 million ($298 million), accepting bids from companies in all sectors except agriculture, forestry, and fishery. The first tender, with a total budget of BGN 107.6 million, will finance the construction of solar and wind projects and co-located energy storage facilities with installed capacities between 200 kW and 2 MW. The procedure seeks to facilitate the development of at least 200 MW of renewable energy production and 100 MW of energy storage. The second procurement exercise, with a budget of BGN 427.5 million, will support new solar and wind projects and energy storage facilities with a total installed capacity of more than 200 kW.
