“There are so many reasons to be excited about the Vienna edition,” says CEO Michael Chaffe.

“Over the years, the key learnings have been to work closely with key stakeholders across the world to develop a vibrant tech ecosystem and drive economic growth in Central Eastern Europe. For the first time, we are bringing Wolves Summit to a new city poised to become a leading tech and innovation hub. Home to roughly 50% of Austria’s startups, Vienna is a perfect destination to host our first-ever edition of this kind”, adds Chaffe.

The move to Vienna has also been supported by key strategic partners from the region including Vienna Business Agency, and invest austria.

“The Vienna Business Agency has long celebrated its close ties to the CEE region,” said Gabriele Tatzberger, director of startup services at the VBA.

“As part of that strong commitment, we are excited to collaborate with the Wolves Summit in Vienna, which will help build new connections between our tech, talent and innovation ecosystems so they can thrive.”

What’s new this October?

Unlike the Wolves Summit’s flagship event, the upcoming Vienna edition taking place at WeXelerate is a more intimate event of 400-500 startups, investors and executives meeting in the heart of Europe to discuss technology and investments.

Selma Prodanovic (Vice-President at EBAN), Alicja Hlibowicka (Relationship Manager at EIF), will join hundreds of other speakers, investors and startups founders set to debate climate tech investments, fintech 2.0, deeptech solutions and technology transfer in CEE, and more.

Startup Showcase - Represent your local ecosystem in Vienna

Wolves Summit is on the lookout for the top start-ups and scaleups across CEE to showcase their technology and represent their country live in Vienna in front of hundreds of investors and corporate partners. Learn more about it and apply here.

Climate Tech Track featuring the top 50 CEE startups

Together with PwC Central and Eastern Europe, Wolves Summit aims to promote the Climate Tech sector in the CEE region and bring to light the climate tech investment landscape and opportunities in our region.

In May 2022 the organisations announced a strategic partnership aimed at matching startups from across the region with impact investors around the world. Since then they have analysed hundreds of climate tech startups to inform the first CEE edition of the PwC NetZero Climate Tech Future 50 report.

The top 50 selected ventures will be joining Wolves Summit in Vienna where they have an opportunity to connect with impact investors and ESG professionals.

Unlimited networking opportunities

Powered by Brella, participants will also gain access to a smart match-making tool which makes it easy for investors and founders to exchange contact information so that they can arrange one-on-one meetings.

Not to be missed VIP Dinners and Networking parties

The networking party on October 20th is open to all attendees including startup founders, and investors. Further details about the venue will be announced in September.

The Investors Evening on October 19 (VIP party) is exclusive to investors, corporate representatives, government representatives and policy-makers. It’s co-organised together with invest austria represented by the Austrian Angel Investors Association (aaia) and Austrian Private Equity and Venture Capital Organisation (AVCO). The event will connect the entire private funding life cycle and promote investments in innovative companies across the CEE region and beyond.

Laura Egg, Managing Director Austrian Angel Investors Association:

"Improving the private capital market is so important that only collaboration can make a change. Therefore it is necessary to use the synergies between Austria and CEE to strengthen the cooperation in the entire funding lifecycle."
