The Future is Tech. And Green

Wolves Summit and Poznan Science and Technology Park (PPNT) have formed a strong community partnership through different projects and scaling support activities addressed to European startups.
Currently, Poznan Science and Technology Park (PPNT) is participating in GreenTech 2.0 project, which empowers green tech clusters to support SMEs in exploiting growth opportunities, service innovation, resource-efficient solutions, market traction, finding investments and internationalization. It is accompanied by strategic partnering between clusters and specialized eco-systems and cities resulting in a new, joint GreenTech Services 2.0 portfolio for participating clusters, including the implementation of the ClusterXchange Programme.

2022 for GreenTech 2.0 clusters: focus on sustainable solutions

As we do believe in the power of synergy, GreenTech 2.0 members have experienced a year of promising starts and opened up new opportunities for green tech developers, companies and organizations.

Every cluster is like a small ecosystem, creating its own impact and role in the global economy. As we do believe in the power of synergy, GreenTech 2.0 members have experienced a year of promising starts and opened up new opportunities for green tech developers, companies and organizations. Take a short panoramic view of our activities.

#Labeled! It was the year of Bronze labels

Clusters focus on many things to make the empowering effect. When these practises are benchmarked, it becomes more efficient to provide professional services for the clusters’ members and thus create a more sustainable impact. One of ways to assure and maintain the quality, is monitoring the cluster’s management.

This spring cluster Digital Rocket LT has been awarded the “Cluster Management Excellence Label BRONZE – Striving for Cluster Excellence”. Digital Rocket LT was founded in the largest innovation community in Lithuania at Tech-Park Kaunas. The Cluster focuses on Digitalisation of Cities public services, creation of new products and services in order to improve citizen life quality by focusing on health tech, green tech, energy management and robotization areas of activities.

Also, other partnering clusters in Technopol, Green Net Finland (GNF) and Poznan Science and Technology Park (PPNT) received the bronze labels for their impact in fostering innovation-open ecosystem and collaboration. The labels were established by the European Secretariat for Cluster Analysis (ESCA). It is the one-stop shop for promoting Cluster Management Excellence through benchmarking and quality labelling of cluster management organisations worldwide.

GreenTech Cluster, founded by the Science Park Tehnopol and Pakri Science and Industrial Park is a country-wide partnership between green tech-related stakeholders in Estonia, who are committed to accelerating the green technology solutions, on an international scale and on commercial terms.

Green Net Finland is a cluster of the responsible environmental goods and services sector. Last year GNF was approved as a cluster registered on the European Cluster Collaboration Platform.PPNT Waste Cluster is a network of science and business connections that sets new standards in the waste management industry. A cluster is otherwise a voluntary association of companies and institutions in the same industry that compete against each other, but the operation of a cluster gives them the opportunity to collaborate and benefit from it, for example, by gaining a competitive advantage over other players.

Starting peer reviews

In September, there was a digital kick-off to onboard all the participants of the peer-reviews. The facilitators Jakob Lindvall and Mikaela Hellberg from Swedish Incubators & Science Parks (SISP) presented the concept of peer review and described the models and tools to be used. The participants also received instructions and guidelines on how to prepare themselves to get the most out of the process.

This autumn GreenTech 2.0 team joined the international partners to participate in an evaluation of the Tehnopol GreenTech Cluster activities, services and value proposition to startups and innovation-open companies. The experts evaluated the cluster, its strengths, and areas for improvement, and made recommendations on how to achieve the goals/objectives more efficiently.

In December the process was continued in Dalarna Science Park - the Park has hosted the second peer review. The participants shared insights into the management in Dalarna Science Park and provided feedback concerning strengths, opportunities, and recommendations for improvement.

Spreading sustainable tech culture and big news for clusters’ members

GreenTech 2.0 partners hosted their local events in each country and promoted sustainable culture by cooperating with green tech oriented startups and ESG experts. One of the most recent events took place in Tallinn. A green transition and sustainability matchmaking event was held at Fotografiska on 4 October in cooperation with the Tehnopol Startup Incubator.

In December GreenTech 2.0 Partnership opened the call for programme ClusterXchange. The programme invited SMEs, clusters, research centres and other scale-up organisations to explore the business and innovation potential in Sweden, Finland, Poland, Lithuania and Estonia in February-March 2023. With the ClusterXchange mobility package, interested entities can receive up to 510 Eur lump sum for participation and other travel expenses.

The call is open until January 31, 2023: https://www.greentech-project.eu/clusterxchange-programme
